This fall Elk Grove Village High School (EGHS) introduced a new program, Business Incubator Entrepreneurship. The students enrolled in this class created a business and learned the logistics to kicking off a start-up company. Throughout the program, business mentors and coaches were invited to EGHS to share their first-hand experiences and knowledge.
Jimmy Merritello, Red Caffeine’s Strategy Lead, was invited to give a lesson about online marketing. He provided students with real-world marketing context and explained how to use this information for business entrepreneurship.
The main points of his lecture included:
· Leveraging search engine (SEO/SEM) and social media marketing· Using Google Alerts to track relevant mentions on the internet· Understanding the process of launching a website· Using blogging as a tool to promote your brand· How to integrate your marketing efforts across online marketing channels
This was Jimmy’s second time participating in an EGHS activity, having sat on a panel of judges for an entrepreneurship sales and business model training course in spring 2014. They must enjoy his company because he’s been invited back later this year to discuss internet and mobile marketing.
