Earlier this month, our very own president and founder Kathy Steele was honored at the Daily Herald Business Ledger’s 17th annual Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards. The awards program showcased business professionals in suburban Chicago who possess outstanding entrepreneurial qualities, including a willingness to take risk, perseverance and business creativity.
Kathy was presented with the Entrepreneurial Excellence Award for the “Early Stage” category. This award recognized the Chicagoland area’s leading entrepreneur, whose company or organization has been in operation for five or fewer years and has shown great promise and achievement in its early stages. Other categories included Growth, Innovation, Young Entrepreneur (under age 40), Outstanding Service to Entrepreneurs, Regional Spirit, and Lifetime Achievement.
Hosted at the Naperville Hilton, the awards ceremony kicked off with a keynote address by Dennis Barsema, social entrepreneur, impact investor and instructor at Northern Illinois University. During the awards presentation, each recipient was given the opportunity to share their journey as an entrepreneur. Kathy spoke first, telling her journey beginning with her devastating business divorce to now running the successful and award-winning company, Red Caffeine.
Words cannot express how beyond proud our team feels to have such a badass running this company and taking no prisoners.
