The Red Caffeine core values spill over into everything we do. This month, we truly embodied our “We Give Back & Pay-It-Forward,” value. The RC team honored a company friend by taking part in The BTB Foundation – Beat Tom and Bill Golf Outing, Dinner and Auction. This year the BTB Foundation raised $115,000 to support families and individuals in the Chicago-land area battling cancer, totaling their overall efforts to around $720,000 since kicking off the foundation. There is still time to join this battle and pay it forward. See how here.
There was a lot of preparation to be done prior to the event. But, it was all worth it!
Red Caffeine sponsored two holes at the White Pines Golf Course in Bensenville. Some of the team golfed, the rest volunteered, and everyone had fun! And this was no ordinary golf outing – you couldn’t play if you weren’t ready to have a good time.
Many of the holes had fun events for the golfers to take part in. Some of these included a sledgehammer carnival game, a bounce house, and even hitting the golf ball while sitting on a toilet. There was also traveling entertainment and people in costumes driving carts around the course. We danced with The Polka Express (also known as John Candy’s “Kenosha Kickers” from “Home Alone”), we were haggled by nuns, and took pictures with sexy cops and life size dollar bills.
Our event was “How far can you drive a marshmallow?” The male golfer and female golfer who drove the marshmallow the furthest won a prize basket of RC items, clothing, candy and beer. Also since “Everything We Do Has Our Flava” (another of our core values), we served Peach John Daley’s. They were such a hit that golfers were circling back for a refill.
When the golf outing came to a close, we headed to The Diplomat West Banquet Hall in Elmhurst. Food was served and inspirational stories were shared by families battling cancer. Overall, we could not have asked for a more fun way to give back to such an outstanding cause!
