On September 7th, Small Giants Chicago and Benedictine University’s Center for Values Driven Leadership (CVDL) joined forces along with our sponsorship to host the third event in the Small Giants Speaker Series. The lunch and workshop was led by Jim Ludema, Co-Founder and Director of the CVDL, and Amber Johnson, Chief Communications Officer and Senior Research Associate. Their presentations highlighted the ongoing research, conducted by the CVDL, on successful workplace cultures and how leaders can design and build their company cultures similar to architects.
The interactive workshop format encouraged participants to collaborate with one another and apply the research concepts to their organizations. With more than 50 registered guests, it was the largest Small Giants Speaker Series event to date.
Lastly, one key takeaway from the event happened to be a wonderful quote from one of the fathers of architecture, Marcus Vitruvius Pollio: “The principles of design must be three things: durable, useful, and beautiful, and same should be said for your culture.”
Save the date for the fourth event in the speaker series on Thursday, November 10, from 5:30 to 8:30 PM. Kevin Walter of Tasty Catering will be presenting “Unleash the Entrepreneur Inside Every Employee” at the Tasty Catering premise in Elk Grove Village, IL.
More details on the fourth event can be found HERE.
